Intro to Karate for Kids! Sat, Sept 27, 4:30-5:30 p.m. Ages 6-11. $20 + signed waiver per child. Learn basics of karate & self-defense with Sensei Wendy Cohen. Registration required.
Give your child more than just an activity, give them skills they can carry with them. Intro to Karate for Kids offers ages 6–11 a full, one-hour dojo-style experience led by Sensei Wendy Cohen, a highly respected instructor with over 35 years of teaching experience. Children will learn foundational karate techniques like blocking, kicking, stances, kiais, and practical self-defense, all while building confidence, focus, respect, and self-control in a supportive environment. The class begins with a student pledge to set expectations for mindfulness and perseverance, helping kids feel empowered from the start. Held Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 4:30–5:30 p.m. in the Storytelling Room. The $20 fee includes expert instruction and a structured, confidence-building experience. Registration is required.

The Lucius E. and Elsie C. Burch, Jr. Library serves the Town of Collierville as an information hub offering materials and programming for all ages, three 4-person study rooms, and a 40-person meeting room. It sits in a beautiful location in Halle Park near Collierville Town Hall.
