Water Marbling will introduce participants to the art of Ebru, also known as Turkish water marbling. This program will begin with a presentation exploring the history, cultural significance, and enduring traditions of this centuries old art form. The presenter, Ayse Murat, will demonstrate the marbling process, showing how pigments are floated on water and carefully transferred to paper to create intricate, one-of-a-kind designs. Following the demonstration, participants will have the opportunity to create their own marbled artwork. All supplies will be provided.
For adults 18+. Registration opens Saturday, February 7, at 10 a.m.
About the presenter:
Ayse Murat has been practicing the traditional Turkish art of water marbling for five years. She has held several workshops, community events, and cultural programs to demonstrate the art form.
