About the Presenter: Through engaging activities and open discussions, Erase the Stigma aims to reduce the stigma around mental health and provide families with the tools they need to navigate emotions, strengthen relationships, and make informed decisions.
Topics:
January: Self-Awareness
Self-awareness is a powerful tool to help children recognize their strengths and weaknesses, ultimately improving their decision-making and self-management skills. By identifying how thoughts and feelings impact actions, families can foster greater optimism and make positive life changes. This foundational skill is key not only to individual growth but also to building healthy, empathetic relationships with others.
February: Self-Management
Self-management involves regulating emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. It includes skills like stress management, goal-setting, and impulse control, helping individuals make better decisions and improve relationships.
March: Social Awareness
Social awareness is the ability to understand and empathize with others from different backgrounds. It promotes healthy relationships and inclusivity, encouraging fairness and respect in diverse social settings.
April: Relationship Skills
Relationship skills involve building positive connections with others through communication, active listening, and empathy. These skills help individuals cooperate, resolve conflicts, and foster rewarding relationships in all areas of life.
May: Responsible Decision-Making
This competency is about making thoughtful, informed choices, considering personal goals, ethical standards, and social norms. It helps individuals navigate situations with positive outcomes for themselves and others.
