Join us every second Saturday of the month from January – May 2025 in the Children's Area for ESL & Reading Activity Day! This fun, interactive program is designed to help ESL students ages 4 - 8 and their parents improve their reading skills. Each month features a new theme, offering fresh games and activities to enjoy together.
The program is led by Maggie Allen, a Girl Scout Ambassador, in partnership with the Shelby Literacy Center. Allen will be available at the table for the first couple of hours, and then the materials will remain for anyone to drop by and play at their convenience.
About the Presenter Organizations:
The Shelby Literacy Center empowers individuals to reach their personal goals by offering opportunities to learn literacy and life skills. Their programs include English Language classes, 1:1 tutoring, citizenship and job skills training, and both in-person and online classes designed to fit your schedule.
Girl Scout Ambassadors are high school juniors and seniors who embrace their independence, explore their personal goals, and inspire others as they prepare for college and life beyond. Whether earning their Gold Award, traveling the world, or giving back to their community, Girl Scout Ambassadors embody confidence, innovation, and optimism as they work toward making a positive impact on the world.

The Lucius E. and Elsie C. Burch, Jr. Library serves the Town of Collierville as an information hub offering materials and programming for all ages, three 4-person study rooms, and a 40-person meeting room. It sits in a beautiful location in Halle Park near Collierville Town Hall.
