Real-time Writing Prompts with John Burgette
Monday, November 02
1:00pm - 2:00pm
Lucius E. and Elsie C. Burch, Jr. Library
Halle Meeting RoomCome and learn new ways to share your thoughts through writing with Dr. John Burgette for Lorevember and National Novel Writing Month!
In this presentation, Dr. John Burgette will discuss how to capture key words from something we’ve just witnessed. The key words can be related to what we’ve seen, heard, and sensed, as well as initial feelings and reactions. Then, the key words can be used as simple prompts for writing something, soon afterwards. This technique can be used for writing poetry, short paragraphs, story & character ideas, etc. Participants will have the opportunity to practice this technique during the session and will be given their own notebook.
