Design your own alien using real science! Learn how NASA searches for life and what it might look like on other planets. For grades 2-8. Registration required for this imaginative Astro Camp.
What might life look like beyond Earth? Find out at NASA Astro Camp: Design an Alien! On Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 11 a.m. to noon, students in grades 2–8 will step into the shoes of astrobiologists and use real scientific criteria to imagine what alien life might be like.
As NASA explores the solar system, scientists look for key conditions that support life: water, energy, essential elements like carbon and nitrogen, and a stable environment. Using these concepts, participants will investigate distant worlds—like Jupiter’s icy moon Europa—and design a life form that could survive in those environments.
This creative, hands-on workshop blends science and imagination while introducing students to real-world space exploration and the ongoing search for life beyond Earth. Registration is required.

The Lucius E. and Elsie C. Burch, Jr. Library serves the Town of Collierville as an information hub offering materials and programming for all ages, three 4-person study rooms, and a 40-person meeting room. It sits in a beautiful location in Halle Park near Collierville Town Hall.
