Construction of Hoover Dam - Mike’s Moment In History: Built between 1931 and 1936, during the height of the Great Depression, Hoover Dam brought the frequent flooding of the Colorado River under control, irrigated California’s Imperial Valley, and provided clean drinking water to 16 million Southern California residents. The largest public works project in US History at that point, the included hydroelectric power plant repaid the entire $165 million project cost through the sale of electricity.

The Lucius E. and Elsie C. Burch, Jr. Library serves the Town of Collierville as an information hub offering materials and programming for all ages, three 4-person study rooms, and a 40-person meeting room. It sits in a beautiful location in Halle Park near Collierville Town Hall.
