The Art of Science: A NASA Astro Camp® Series
Explore the exciting connection between space and creativity in this two-part series!
- Make a Colorful Crayon Europa – Sunday, October 12, 2025, 2–3 p.m., Grades K–2
Jupiter’s moon Europa may hold twice as much water as Earth—but its frozen, bumpy surface is full of ridges, cracks, and textures. In this hands-on activity, kids will explore these unique features and imagine what life beyond Earth could look like. - The Cosmic Connection – Thursday, October 23, 2025, 5–6 p.m., Grades 3–5
Students will investigate real NASA planetary images, then use pastels to create artistic interpretations of planets, moons, or asteroids. By focusing on line, color, and texture, participants will see how both artists and scientists study our universe through careful observation.
The goal of NASA ASTRO CAMP® is to give all students the chance to experience STEM—Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics—inspiring future astronauts and engineers through fun, hands-on NASA activities.
Both sessions will be held in the Storytelling Room. Registration is required.

About this Library
The Lucius E. and Elsie C. Burch, Jr. Library serves the Town of Collierville as an information hub offering materials and programming for all ages, three 4-person study rooms, and a 40-person meeting room. It sits in a beautiful location in Halle Park near Collierville Town Hall.
