Storytelling RoomLearn babysitting basics, safety, and first aid in this hands-on class for youth ages 11+. There is $35 fee per student. Registration required; opens June 6.
Get ready to become a confident and capable babysitter! Babysitting 101 is a 2.5-hour class for students ages 11 and up who are interested in caring for children. Participants will learn the basics of child care, including safety, first aid, and age-appropriate activities for infants through school-age children. The class also covers developmental stages, as well as health, nutrition, and sleep needs for each age group. Students will gain hands-on experience practicing the Heimlich maneuver and learning how to use an EpiPen. To wrap up, participants will create their own babysitting advertisement and receive a certificate of completion.
The class will take place on June 20, 2026, from 2 - 4:30 p.m in the Storytelling Room. There is a $35 fee per student to be paid at the start of the class. Registration is required and opens June 6, 2026.

The Lucius E. and Elsie C. Burch, Jr. Library serves the Town of Collierville as an information hub offering materials and programming for all ages, three 4-person study rooms, and a 40-person meeting room. It sits in a beautiful location in Halle Park near Collierville Town Hall.
