Build awareness, confidence, and practical safety skills in this Women’s Self Defense workshop. Participants will discuss real-world scenarios such as car safety, public space awareness, and other situations where personal safety strategies are important. Hands-on techniques focus on using your voice, identifying vulnerable targets, and creating the time and space needed to move to safety.
All attendees will receive a free trial karate class at MidSouth Okinawan Karate and will be entered for a chance to win a door prize.
No prior martial arts experience is required. Comfortable clothing and readiness to move are encouraged.
The workshop is led by Sensei Wendy Cohen, founder of MidSouth Okinawan Karate. With more than 35 years of experience in Okinawan karate, she is a 5th Degree Blackbelt and Certified Senior Instructor in the Seibukai System of Goju Ryu Karate, as well as a 3rd Degree Blackbelt in the Ryukonkai Weapons System. Her instruction emphasizes practical self-defense in a supportive, welcoming environment.
