Storytelling RoomMeet a future service dog and learn how these special puppies are raised and trained! Geared for families welcome, but all are welcome. Registration required.
Come meet a dog with an important job ahead! Join Canine Companions for an educational and interactive program that introduces children and families to the world of service dogs. Participants will learn about the important roles service dogs play, how to safely and appropriately interact with a service dog in training, and what goes into raising and preparing these special dogs for their future work.
The program will include an opportunity to meet a future service dog in person and participate in simple training activities. Families can also enjoy service dog-themed coloring pages and take a peek at an interactive live puppy cam featuring puppies currently in training.
This National Service Dog Month program is geared toward families and children, but everyone is welcome! Join us on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Registration is required.
About the Presenting Organization: Canine Companions provides expertly trained service dogs to adults, children, and veterans with disabilities, as well as facility dogs to professionals in healthcare, criminal justice, and educational settings. Founded in 1975, Canine Companions provides its service dogs and ongoing follow-up services at no cost to qualified clients, helping people live with greater independence.

About this Library
The Lucius E. and Elsie C. Burch, Jr. Library serves the Town of Collierville as an information hub offering materials and programming for all ages, three 4-person study rooms, and a 40-person meeting room. It sits in a beautiful location in Halle Park near Collierville Town Hall.
