Step into the world of fossils and discovery with Dino Talk, presented by Dr. Jane Coop of the Memphis Archaeological and Geological Society! Join us on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 4 p.m. in the Storytelling Room for an exciting look at real dinosaur and fossil finds.
Dr. Coop will share stories from her own adventures searching for fossils and introduce participants to pieces from her personal collection. Learn how fossils are discovered, what they can tell us about the past, and what it’s like to explore the world as a scientist.
This program is perfect for curious kids who love dinosaurs, rocks, and uncovering the mysteries of long ago.
Best for youth in rising grades 1–5. Registration required.
About the Presenter
Dr. Jane Coop (M.D., M.B.A.) has spent over 20 years participating in fieldwork with the Tate Geological Museum in Casper, Wyoming. She has been involved in locating, identifying, and recovering dinosaur and mammal fossils from formations such as the Lance Formation and Hell Creek, bringing real-world experience in paleontology and fossil discovery.
About the Organization
The Memphis Archaeological and Geological Society is dedicated to promoting interest in archaeology and geology through scientific study, education, and community engagement. Founded in 1958, the organization supports research, encourages collaboration with professionals in the field, and works to increase public awareness of archaeological and geological discoveries throughout the Mid-South.

The Lucius E. and Elsie C. Burch, Jr. Library serves the Town of Collierville as an information hub offering materials and programming for all ages, three 4-person study rooms, and a 40-person meeting room. It sits in a beautiful location in Halle Park near Collierville Town Hall.
