Storytelling RoomExplore real fossils, dig for specimens, and learn how fossils form! Hands-on MOSH program for rising K-5. July 18, 4-5 p.m. Registration required.
Dig into the fascinating world of fossils with this hands-on discovery program from MOSH (Museum of Science and History)! Participants will examine real fossils and learn to identify them as trace or remain fossils while exploring how fossils form over millions of years. Using samples of sedimentary rocks like limestone, shale, and sandstone, students will discover where fossils are most often found.
Kids will get to use hand lenses and magnification tools to closely study ancient wood and bone, solve fossil puzzles, and even dig for their own specimens using Bone Valley ore. Along the way, they’ll learn how paleontologists determine the age of rocks and fossils and uncover clues about life long ago. With a mix of interactive activities and engaging materials, this program is perfect for curious young scientists.
Join us on July 18 from 4-5 p.m. in the Storytelling Room. Designed for rising grades K-5. Registration is required.
